This canyon is surrounded by spectacular karst formations and arid rocks, passes between the mountains of Bàlitx and Moncaire, and crosses the magnificent finca of Bàlitx d’Avall, dating from the thirteenth century. The adventure offered by the Torrent de Na Móra is the most exciting, fun and varied. It forces us to use climbing techniques, rappels, slides, jumps to water pools… We will find all kinds of formations and with an impressive ending, as it flows directly into the sea. If we are very fit and we are lucky that there aren’t bad sea conditions, we can go swimming before embarking on our way back up the canyon.

The first part of the canyon consists of 1 km, the most advisable if we have little experience, and half a kilometer more if we continue the canyon to the mouth of the sea, much more difficult, but really spectacular!

During the tour

From the Mirador de Ses Barques, on the road from Sóller to Lluc, we walk about 50 minutes to the farm and agritourism Bàlitx d’Avall. Here we can admire, for the first time the canyon na Móra, and we will be about 10 minutes from the first jump.

The first section of the gorge is a set of overhangs with jumps and slides, some abseiling, pools… to arrive to Cala Ferrera. Once in the second part of the canyon, it increases the technical difficulty and we must descend to the sea and decide the best option to come back from there.

The guide will decide, depending on the characteristics of the group, returning to Bàlitx d’Avall or continue the descent of the ravine to reach the sea.

Characteristics

The biggest/highest canyon slide is 12 meters, there are several jumps between 3 and 8 meters (no mandatory jump!). The gorge has a length of 1.500 meters, with a total drop of 150 meters.

There are several exciting jumps and several options back from the end of the canyon.

The guide will decide the best option according to the group

  • Swimming through the sea about 300 meters and walk back to the parking of the Mirador de ses Barques (1,5 hours).
  • Overcome the canyon to reach Bàlitx d’Avall.
  • Overcome part of the canyon and walk to the Port de Sóller.
  • The simplest option to return: by boat or canoe (this service must be booked in advance and specifically).
