During its journey, this ravine crosses the lands of the country house of Muntanya, and it is encased within a spectacular karst spot just before finally opening to the Vall d’en March, from where it takes the definitive path to the town of Pollença. The canyon shares a leading role along a good part of the route with the layout of the old Lluc path; junction road between the Sanctuary and Pollença.
The Muntanya stream is located on the north slope of the Puig Tomir and represents the main surface drainage in this area. Despite having a very wide and diffuse head formed by various slopes that hang down from the slopes of the mentioned massif with more or less clear beds, the trough is not clearly defined until near the Muntanya spring. The central section where the torrent is boxed with some importance and where it accumulates most of the unevenness is, therefore, where the greatest attraction of the sport descent is concentrated. In this sector we will cross a spectacular karst spot. We will arrive at the beginning of the canyon after a 1.5 h. hike.
