Hiking in Mallorca

Mallorca is one of Europe’s most popular warm island walking destinations. The variety of walks is remarkable, ranging from leisurely strolls to pathless scrambles reaching the most remote peaks.

In short, ‘if you can’t find a walk to suit your tastes in Mallorca, you may as well hang up your boots and take to gardening!’ (Charles Davis)

We can suggest some of the best walks in Mallorca the Sierra Tramuntana and Sierra de Llevant

For the ones who are looking for a special walking-experience during 4 or 7 days:

Traversing the Tramuntana Mountain Range:

La Ruta de pedra en sec’ (The dry stone route) GR 221. This classic Mallorcan Trek from Andratx to Pollensa reveals tremendous historical activity – a network of paths, picturesque villages, remote mountain farms, coastal watchtowers (miradors), sanctuaries, springs and streams, extraordinary rock formations, wall constructions, circular moss-covered charcoal hearths, lime kilns, snow pits… The itinerary is amazing and covers approximately 150km offering stunning sea views and dramatic mountain landscapes – pine forested slopes above azure blue waters, narrow gorges, towering walls, idyllic creeks and peaks of more than 1400 metres…Discover the history of Mallorca – its myths and legends, its traditions, craftsmanship, and unique gastronomy…

This route is not to be underestimated. These are serious mountains. Depending on the ability of the participants, it can be achieved in a two to seven day walking trip, with overnight stops.
